About Global Young People’s Convocation Delegates

 Pastors and Lay Person(s): The Yellowstone Conference Youth and Young Adult Ministries are sending three youth and young adult delegates to the Global Young People’s Convocation July 21-26 in Berlin Germany. The cost of the trip was approx $2,500 per person and the families were paid for approximately 60% of the trip. Please consider making a contribution to their registration and travel fees through the Yellowstone Conference Office as “Berlin Youth Trip”

 

Barbara Otey, daughter of Reverend Susan and David Otey, is a recent graduate from Billings Senior High School. Barbara is an accomplished dancer and she has participated in many workshops, camps and performances. She enjoys acting, camping, backpacking, and perfecting her French. Barbara will represent the Yellowstone Annual Conference as a young adult voting delegate. She will gather information on what changes youth and young adults in our conference want to see globally.

Emily Shelton, daughter of Linda and Jeff Shelton, is an incoming sophomore at Laurel High School. Emily is active in sports and music – she also manages the Laurel Locomotives Football team. She enjoys Laurel UMC youth group, going to camp and hanging out with her family and friends. Emily will represent the Yellowstone Annual Conference as a youth non-voting delegate. She will learn the legislative process, network with other youth and young adults from all over the world as well as bring legislation and global young people’s initiatives home to the Yellowstone Conference.

Katie Shelton, daughter of Linda and Jeff Shelton, is an incoming sophomore at Montana State University-Billings. Katie is one of Laurel United Methodist Church’s young adult leaders; she helps prepare activities for weekly youth group meetings. When she isn’t working or studying – Katie can be found watching one of her favorite teams: Chicago Bears, Blackhawks and Cubs. Katie will represent the Yellowstone Annual Conference as a young adult delegate. Katie travelled all over Europe with a regional band in 2008 and she will bring some travel experience and leadership to the trio. She will also prepare a report of the event to the conference youth and young adults.

  

 

Janna Lauver is the Yellowstone Conference Youth and Camping Coordinator. She is living vicariously through the youth and young adults during GYPC. She will be updating and monitering posts and comments from Dillon. She will also be keeping up with the live fees available at: http://globalyoungpeople.org/
